About Us

Situated in the beautiful backdrops of North Malabar, in Vadakara Taluk Maniyoor Panchayath 4th ward is the monumental Manadarathur MLP School, dearly called as Paravattathu School in the locality. From time immemorial the school has been taken over by love and acted as a catalyst in bringing meaningful changes into the lives of the beautiful village.

Started as a Madrassa, and later in 1910 started working as a full-fledged school. Patrons of this initiative were the visionaries Ayyidathu Poyin Tharuvi Musaliyar and Koroth Kelu Nambiar, where the latter was also the first principal of the institution. As per official enrollment, Moidu Asharikandi is the first student in the roll. In the initial years, most of the enrollment was limited to students from the Muslim community but later in 1951 with Mavayilthazha Kunjiraman as the first student from the Hindu community the school has acted an epitome of communal and regional harmony. It has withstood the test of time with the active support and drive from the community itself. One of its records have kept an account of how in 1963 the then principal V.Ahmed Master conducted Saraswati(Goddess of Knowledge) Pooja and its allied practices in the school premises with the help of Gopalakurupu Master.
